The Beginning

Born and raised in Bartonville, a small town in Illinois, my parents encouraged me to pursue what made me happy. From a very early age, visual and sonic art captured my attention.

With limited resources in my small town, visual art was difficult to engross myself in, so I focused on music. I fell in love with music and found it filling my days.

As I transitioned into adulthood, I found myself at a liberal arts college near Chicago, but after two years, I followed my heart and decided to pursue music professionally. Moving from Chicago to Springfield, to Saint Louis, and then down to Austin, I used this time to experience life and forge connections (including meeting my wife) that ultimately led me to where I am today.

The Professional

After getting married, my wife and I found ourselves back in Saint Louis, MO. Little did I know this move was about to change the course of my life.

I was offered a job at Iron Age Tattoo Studio. The creative freedom and expression that surrounded me sparked something in me. The caliber of artistry within the tattoo world would become my true home, where I finally felt a deep sense of belonging - physically, mentally, and spiritually.

After 18 months at Iron Age Tattoo, my wife and I moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota. Faced with a new city and adventure, I sold my musical equipment and walked into my next career.

Following a friend's recommendation, I headed to The Aloha Monkey in Burnsville, Minnesota. The gracious owner, Joshua Arment, offered me a counter position on the condition that I learned the art of piercing. This was the golden opportunity I had been waiting for, and under the wing of Tara Boyd, I delved into the piercing side of the tattoo business for the next three years.

I was eager to immerse myself in the art of tattooing and knew it was now or never. Fortunately, the owners of The Rose of No Man’s Land in Woodbury, Minnesota, Kyle Franklin Marx Barry and Josh Edwards, generously took me under their wings as an apprentice, and that's where my transformative journey truly flourished. I owe an immeasurable gratitude to these gentlemen, and I wouldn't be where I am today without them. Thank you, gentlemen, for believing in me.

Since then, I have been consistently dedicated to elevating my education and skills to do justice to the tattooing art form.

After some time, my family found ourselves back in Saint Louis, Missouri. Today, I can be found at Ragtime Tattoo Studio, where I am under the mentorship of the esteemed Matt Hodel. Matt has been a significant influence on me since my formative years and now as a fellow tattoo artist.

I have finally found my true calling and a sense of belonging. Every day, I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to create meaningful body art and help people express their unique stories through tattoos. My passion lies in empowering my clients by providing them with the freedom to articulate their concepts and identities, enabling me to translate their energy into timeless body art that they can proudly wear for a lifetime.

If this resonates with you, let's collaborate and create extraordinary tattoo magic together!

The Personal

I’ve been with my wife, Jess, for over 14 years, and in early 2024, we welcomed our first child. It’s been an exciting journey into parenthood, and we love every moment of the adventure.

When not tattooing or caring for our little one, I stay active with jiu-jitsu and love catching live music and shows.

I can’t wait to hear parts of your story during our consultation!
